Finally made it back to the states on the 15th of February. Currently in Norfolk, VA for 90 days of medical hold. I broke my finger about a month ago and finally had it x-rayed and they found a fracture. I also have 2 compressed disks in my neck so I have to take physical therapy until the Navy releases me. Jerry - Glad to hear you'll be heading home a little earlier. I can just imagine what you said when they asked you to stay another year. Just wanted to let you know MMWR is sending you three more boxes today. They should be there before you depart. If there is anyone's attention we can send stuff to once you're home, let me know. If people ask if we're still sending stuff over to our troops, I'll hate to say no. The picture of you standing on the Iraq/Turkey border is amazing. Such beauty surrounding so much choas. So take care. See you soon. Love, Kathy

Reply: Kathy:
Sorry for the delay in responding but I have been in transit. I did receive the boxes before I left and passed them out to the troops. Lt. Curt Chaffinch is now your contact. He was part of the Navy Team that relieved us. Thank you for all your support while I was overseas. Looking forward to heading home and meeting everyone.

Love, Jerry

Humphrey Bogart! That's right! I only met your dad a few times but now that you mention it, yeah, Humphrey Bogart.
Jerry, that's one of the reasons I have a lot of respect for you. You honored your dad when you received your promotion at Ft. Dix some years ago and I never forgot that. I miss my dad a lot too and live every day hoping I am still making him proud.
You are making your dad proud, keep him in your heart always and you can't go wrong.

I am happy that Sam is making plenty of friends. Thank you for thinking of me. I am looking forward of heading back to the states. I will have Sam introduce us when I get back.
